The BC Métis Federation's Annual General Meeting only a week away, we would like to take a moment to thank our members for their support of the event.

Event Recap:

The Conservation Department of the British Columbia Métis Federation recently attended the 13th Annual General Meeting in Victoria, British Columbia, on September 7th, 2024. The event was a great success, marked by a strong turnout of familiar faces, including many members who have supported our shoreline cleanups and conservation initiatives over the years. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to reconnect, share updates, and celebrate our collective achievements in environmental stewardship.

The Conservation Department of the British Columbia Métis Federation also took the opportunity to discuss future conservation plans, emphasizing the importance of protecting our coastal ecosystems. With new leadership in place, we are excited to continue building on the momentum of previous projects, including shoreline cleanups and habitat restoration efforts. Our commitment to collaboration with local communities remains strong, as we work together to safeguard the natural beauty of British Columbia for future generations.

One of the highlights of the event was the election of our new board members for the federation. We extend heartfelt congratulations to Keith Henry, who was elected President, and Earl Belcourt, our new Vice President. Cindy Kennedy will serve as Treasurer, and Jacquie Swaisland as Executive Secretary. We also warmly welcome our newly elected directors: Rosanne Forget, Elizabeth Pearce, Jordan Therrien, Rene Therrien, and Robin McLay. We look forward to their leadership and commitment in guiding us toward a greener future.
