Event Recap: Michif-French Language Workshop

The Coastal Water Protectors, the conservation department under the British Columbia Métis Federation (BCMF), recently attended a Michif-French language workshop, where we set up an informative booth to engage with the community.

Our team showcased our mission to care for aquatic and coastal waters through various displays, including demonstrations of our essential spill kits. We also distributed educational books on global warming to raise awareness about environmental issues and provided a comprehensive year-end review for 2023, detailing our conservation efforts and achievements over the past year.

This event was an excellent opportunity for us to connect with the community, share our conservation goals, and highlight the importance of environmental stewardship. By attending the workshop, we aimed to foster a deeper understanding of our work and encourage collective action to safeguard our aquatic and coastal ecosystems. We look forward to continuing our engagement with the community and furthering our mission to preserve the natural environment!
